Introducing EcoBoost Tuning for the F150 and Raptor from Calibrated Power Solutions home of DuramaxTuner.com! The EcoBoost platform has interested CPS since they were offered in the 2011 F150. While our focus for the past decade-plus has been the diesel truck market, our roots are in gas tuning.

The R&D team here worked hard to not just add these trucks to our supported list but really change the market. Hitting the horsepower and torque numbers to be in-line with other tuners is important. However, driveability and reliability and functionality are just as crucial.

That’s why we're proud to offer a wide range of supported trucks, and available tuning files, on EZ Lynk, nGauge and MPVI2 hardware for the 3.5L EcoBoost found in the 2011-2019 F150  and the 2.7L in the 2015-2019 F150, as well as the 3.5L in the 2017-2019 Raptor. 

Flex Tuning & SMART Files

E-85 compatibility no longer requires a massive fuel system overhaul for many of these trucks. Through extensive calibration and road testing, we can now unlock your trucks' ability to measure and immediately adjust for blends of ethanol up to 85%. Our SMART Files make this possible by utilizing OEM sensors and understanding the factory algorithms used to calculate the ethanol content. (List of Supported SMART Ethanol Capable Models)

Transmission Tuning Strategy

We like firm and crisp shifts that feel strong enough to hold the power but not so hard it feels like the transmission will drop out from under the vehicle.  As we increase the horsepower and torque with engine tuning many adjustments should be made to your transmission calibrations.  From daily driving in town to lugging a load up a steep grade, your transmission tune is going to make a huge difference in how much you love to drive your truck.

Tow Tunes are designed just for that, towing. All temperature and torque reductions are in place to keep the trucks' powertrain protected from thermal overload and abuse. CPS does not recommend towing over the GVWR of the vehicle and expects the driver to use good judgment to avoid abusing the vehicle with the extra power. Situations like full-throttle starts and excessive lugging in manual mode can and will cause parts degradation. 

The Sport tune is your go-to daily driver file.  This is the best balance of performance, reliability, and economy for daily use.  The file has loosened up torque limits and more power than the tow tune, but most of the relevant safety features still enabled. This tune is not designed to be used for towing.  It’s intended to be used without a load behind it.  

Our Race tune is your max effort file supporting a leaner fuel curve, mostly removed torque protection and significantly looser thermal limits for optimized power. High Flow downpipes and intakes are recommended for Race files.  We also recommend the use of an upgraded fuel pump in the tank such as the Deatchwerks 400 or similar to avoid power loss from fuel system limitations.

The Ethanol specific tunes (2015+ model year) are the same logic but we are able to take advantage of the higher octane and cooling benefits of E30-E45 fuel by starting with a more advanced timing curve and revised air-fuel curves in each file.  Best performance is generally a balance between fuel system ability and octane rating. The higher the ethanol content in the fuel system, the higher the octane, but the more fuel system capacity is required as the system requires more fuel volume to make the same power when ethanol concentration increases.  With Ethanol, we highly recommend running a Deatchwerks 400 or similar fuel pump at a minimum. Intakes, charger air pipes, intercooler & downpipes will all benefit the truck while running the Race-Ethanol (or the Race-Flex) file. 

If you’re interested in running straight E85 at full power you’ll want to consider an upgraded pump in-tank and an upgraded high-pressure fuel pump.
